MIGRAINES

By definition, chronic daily headaches occur 15 days or more a month, for at least three months. True (primary) chronic daily headaches aren't caused by another condition.

There are short-lasting and long-lasting chronic daily headaches. Long-lasting last more than four hours. They include:

a. Chronic migraine
b. Chronic tension-type headache
c. New daily persistent headache

Chronic Migraine
This type typically occurs in people with a history of episodic migraines. On eight or more days a month for at least three months, migraines tend to have the following features:

a. Affect one side or both sides of your head
b. Have a pulsating, throbbing sensation
c. Cause moderate to severe pain
d. Are aggravated by routine physical activity

And they cause at least one of the following:

a. Nausea, vomiting or both
b. Sensitivity to light and sound

BOTOX® is a preventive treatment. BOTOX® is the first and only preventive treatment approved by the FDA for adults with Chronic Migraine (15 or more headache days a month, each lasting 4 hours or more). BOTOX® therapy is not approved for adults with migraine who have 14 or fewer headache days a month.
